Just incase you missed the great event, Oscars 2019, here is the star who broke everyone neck for his attire. Billy Porter, who is best known for his role as the flamboyant ball emcee Pray Tell in the FX series Pose.
The 49 years old singer/actor turned up at Oscars dresses in a tuxedo gown for the star-studded event. It also featured ruffled sleeves and a long train. The statement dress was made entirely of black velvet and was topped off with a classic black bow tie, also in velvet.
He won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor In A Musical for his role as Lola in Kinky Boots. He also wrote the play While I Yet Live, which premiered Off-Broadway in 2014. He too helped out with red carpet duties, as part of the ABC telecast.
The Pennsylvania native introduced and interviewed stars like Serena Williams, Jordan Peele and former winner Emma Stone. He commented on The Favourite’s Best Supporting Actress nominee’s outfit, Emma Stone looking like Barbarella.
Porter was also revealed to have paid homage to a ballroom scene icon through his outfit choice. The iconic ballroom house, House Of Xtravaganza, posted a side-by-side comparison pic to their Instagram account.
