Tanzanian Actress Wema Sepetu yesterday lost the opportunity to bag top Prestigious Awards during the Sinema Zetu International Film Festival.
Wema Sepetu had been nominated under the category of the Best Actress and the Best Film Category.
The Actress has been in the film industry for year and perhaps has cemented her status to be the best.
This nomination went through despite the fact that she faced backlash last year leading to being barred from taking part in acting activities.
The backlash and the ban by the government might have been a contributing factor to her loss.
Apart from her acting career, Wema Sepetu has also played key role in being vocal to address the challenges facing film makers in the efforts of transforming the industry.
Speaking after the awarding ceremony, Wema Sepetu mentioned that she is still glad that they tried despite not receiving any award.
Wema also says that it pains to have missed out on the Award but what served as a consolation is that she is not the only one who lost.
She however added that it is not a big loss since she understands that she has not been in the film industry for a while following the ban but there is always a second time.
