Sonko highlights plan to kick out water shortage menace in Nairobi

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared his plan to kick out water shortage menace in Nairobi.

The Governor says that Nairobi City County Government is committed to providing regular water supply to all Nairobians as promised in his manifesto.

Earlier yesterday, the Nairobi City Water and Sewarage Company engineers were in Githurai area where they fixed water pipes in order to improve water supply to Githurai 45, Kahawa Sukari and Kahawa Wendani areas.

The engineers were also tasked with replacing old water pipes with new ones.

Sonko says that this move is in line with his vision of a clean, beautiful and healthy city where water is safe, accessible and affordable to all Nairobians.

Other projects that the Governor is working on includes the unclogging of the drainage system as measures to mitigate effects of the heavy rains.

The City County Government officials intensified the unclogging of canals in all 85 Wards in the city in order to improve the flow of water and holding capacity of waterways and the drainage systems.
