Humanitarian Aid blocked at Columbia-Venezuela border

Many Venezuelans have no access to food or medical supplies. Acting President Nicolas Maduro denies that any humanitarian crisis is taking place and has called on the military to block any aid from entering the country.

Maduro has been criticized both by Venezuelans and other countries for destroying the economy of Venezuela and allowing the citizens to wallow in a quagmire of poverty.

Venezuelan’s have been fleeing the country due to lack of food and drugs. As we speak, the embattled president blocked USAID aid at the Columbia border, citing political reasons.

Venezuela earlier closed its sea and air border with Curacao, a Dutch Caribbean island off Venezuela’s north coast which is planning to host US aid.

Maduro has no eye for the plight of Venezuelan’s but his greed for power has impaired his judgment and now he sees the aid as a leeway for US to penetrate into Venezuela.

Mr. Guaidó has said 600,000 volunteers have already signed up to help carry aid into the country on Saturday.
