A man in Naivasha has committed suicide after finding out his fiancee was seeing his friend behind his back. The man is reported to have jumped in front of a speeding truck ferrying construction materials which fatally crushed him.
According to a report sources on Friday, February 22, eye witnesses thought the deceased was a victim of hit and run only to find a suicide note in his pockets. Samuel Kimani an eye witness said the jilted lover jumped in front of the truck at Kayole section of the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway. The suicide note revealed the man had been pushed to take his own life by alleged betrayal of a woman he loved and was planning to marry.
“He explained how he met the love of his life in the letter saying they were planning to settle in marriage only for him to find the woman in compromising position with his friend,” Kimani said. “He warned that the two people who pushed him to take his own life should not try to attend his burial,” narrated Kimani.
According to locals, the Kayole section of the highway has been highlighted as a blackspot where pedestrians have been regular victims of speeding vehicles and the deceased could have purposefully chosen the area to end his life. Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the saying the body was taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
