Kenyan afro pop group Sauti Sol has finally unveiled their first a signee.
Bensoul is the first artist to be signed at the Sol Generation Records with his first release a song called ‘Lucy’ .
Lucy showcases an authentic sound from one of Kenya’s best live acts. The reggae-infused song is set to light up hearts across East Africa, especially because of how Bensoul delivers a heartfelt serenade to his love interest, with mellow yet powerful vocals.
While speaking about his new song he said, “Lucy is very relatable to most young people—it’s about a guy who is not sure about his position in the relationship but won’t stop loving.”
The Lucy music video was directed by KG Brian (Kenyan cinematographer) and executively produced by Sol Generation Records and Willis Austin Chimano of Sauti Sol.
An excited Bensoul says, “I feel like Sol Generation Records is the place I need to be. It’s God’s grace that everything is working out because the label has my best musical interests and have such a great plan for everything we intend to achieve,” adding on Sauti Sol, the label heads, “I feel like one of their brothers and so excited to see what more we will do. Together we are hoping to change the world.”
