The ban imposed on Wema Sepetu from making films has been lifted. Tanzania film board has lifted the ban which was implemented after an explicit video with a Burundian national identified as Patrick went viral on social media which they referred to as a disgrace. The ban was imposed in October 2018.
The actress was banned from making any films within the country and even though she issued an apology, it was not heeded by the board. Joyce Fissoo, The Film Board representative explained that the ban was lifted on the basis of an agreement between them and the actress and that she had satisfied 75% of the requirements they had put out.
