Official: Former AFC Leopards player appointed as Kakamega Homeboyz coach

Nicholas Muyoti has been appointed the head coach of Kakamega Homeboyz filling the slot left vacant by Ugandan Paul Nkata who was sacked in the wake of a match-fixing storm.

He is a former AFC Leopards player who has also handled Thika United in the past as its head coach was unveiled Tuesday morning in Kakamega in the presence of the team’s playing unit, led by veteran striker Allan Wanga who has been holding fort as player-coach.

Muyoti inked a two- year deal to take up the new assignment. He leaves Nzoia United placed 10th on the KPL log on 17 points; having won four matches, drawn five and lost four.

Homeboyz on the other hand are placed ninth on the grid on 17 points and club president Cleophas Shimanyula will be counting on his mojo to catapult the team to the top five.

Speaking at the brief unveiling ceremony, Shimanyula stressed the club ‘s aim of finishing in the top five bracket.

Allan Wanga called on his fellow teammates to cooperate and give the new coach ample time to execute his mandate.
