Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe added another chapter to his already amazing story as he scored against Manchester United at Old Trafford last night.

The World Cup winner who joined PSG from Monaco is now the most prolific scorer under the age of 21 in the history of the Champions League.

On a night when Neymar and Edison Cavani were missing, Mbappe stepped up to the plate with a vibrant performance which further enhanced his rapidly growing reputation as the best young player on the planet.

He now tops a list which includes such luminaries as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and his PSG team-mate Neymar.

Mbappe is already the youngest scorer in the history of PSG and Monaco as well as being the youngest goalscorer in the semi-finals of the Champions League. His record equates to 14 goals in 24 games which is some way ahead of his nearest rival Karim Benzema.

His reputation has been advanced by his ability to score at some of Europe’s most intimidating venues including Anfield and Old Trafford. Last season he scored in away days at Celtic, Bayern Munich and Anderlecht and has previously found the net at Juventus, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.

Last night’s goal also saw Mbappe equal Brazilian Ronaldo’s record in 24 Champions League games. He scored his 14th goal in the competition at Old Trafford to go level with Ronaldo who had the same number of goals after spells with Inter and Real Madrid but that took him 40 games – Mbappe needed just 24.

However, the young Frenchman has some way to go to match Cristiano Ronaldo who has 121 goals from 158 games in the competition. Lionel Messi isn’t that far behind with 106 goals in 129 appearances.
