Will Ole Gunnar Continue with the Winning Trend?

Manchester United will host Paris-Saint Germain today in the first round of their round of 16 tie.

Ole gunnar has led United to a 10 over 11 win in all games they have played under his management as a caretaker.

Probably the most lingering question in everyone’s mind is: Will he continue with the victory trend?

Ole has indicated that United are preparing for toughest Champion League’s match after five years against Paris Saint Germain.

United have not managed to qualify for the competition in two of the five seasons since Sir Alea Ferguson left in 2013 and have not succeeded in a knockout game in the Champion’s League since 3-0 victory against Olympiakos back in 2014.

Ole Gunnar will be testing the opponent whose best players are facing injury.

PSG is without Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Meunier, but Ole insists that United will head to the match with confidence regardless of the opponent’s injury woes.

“I think the squad is capable of winning against anyone and we go in to games confident in our form,” he said. “We are looking forward to the game but you can’t look too far ahead. We just have to look at PSG and take the next challenge as it comes. I’ve been pleased with the attitude. We can improve and maybe surprise a few.”

United players have also shown confidence as they go for the tie, with Pogba expressing his hope to win against the team which he said he has many friends playing for.

“There are a lot of French players, and they have top players who have been winning the league for I don’t know how many years. They’re looking to win the Champions League – that’s their goal. The goalkeepers, Alphonse Areola, Gigi [Buffon] – I played with both of them, and Kylian [Mbappe] and [Presnel] Kimpembe. So I’m looking forward to playing against them, but the first thing is to win against them! That’s what I want,” said Pogba.

United have a good record against French teams. Ole’s team have played 14 times in Europe against French teams and have not tasted defeat, winning 10 and drawing 4.
