Cheap Breast Surgery leaves Woman Body Shaming Herself

The Eve’s species are one interesting lot. From tweezing all their eyebrows and later drwaing them back, to ‘color lightening’ like our very own Vera Sidika. A recent incident occured where a woman who spent her life savings on plastic surgery says she has been left with ‘double bubble’ boobs after a botched operation. The average cost of breast augmentation in Australia is $13,000 (Ksh. 130,000), so Jacqueline was thrilled to find a discounted price of $6,000 (Ksh. 60,000).

Jacqueline Harvey, 23, paid Ksh. 60,000 for discount breast implants after five years of saving but said she immediately regretted the surgery after being left with a second bulge under her breast bone. The graphic designer from, Brisbane, Australia, says she is now ashamed of her breasts and is desperate to go under the knife once again for corrective surgery.

Jacqueline said: “I’d wanted a boob job since I was 18 years old as I felt as though I was out of proportion. “But when I found a plastic surgeon who would do the procedure for a discounted rate of £4500 [$6,000] I booked the operation for last August.”

But she now regrets choosing the knock-down rate as she will have to spend the same amount on corrective surgery. She added: “It was a lot more affordable than what I had previously been quoted for breast augmentations, which range around Ksh. 130,000.”

“It hurts to wear any bra other than my post-operative bra anyway. It’s hard to find bras that fit properly as well since they sit low, I need longer straps. And because the shape of the bottom of the breast is not round, it’s a double bubble, I cannot find any bras with cups that will accommodate to this and be comfortable to wear. I still go out, but I wear shirts that cover my breasts. They look so low and wide apart, there is no cleavage at all because of where they are sitting.
