The e-mobile side of tech is set to witness the novelty of an ultramodern addition- The Nera.
The Nera is the first ever fully functional 3D-printed e-motorcycle.
Built by German company BigRep, it is poised to be the 3D future of roads, having all parts but the engine and electrical parts being 3D-printed. The engine is itself housed in a 3D printed case.
The Nera boasts of features such as: the airless tire with customized treads, functional integration and embedded sensor technology, a lightweight rhomboid wheel rim, and flexible bumpers which replace the conventional suspensions.
When mounted on a robotic arm, its new Adaptive Robotic Gripper can grab onto objects and is controlled by a force-monitoring system.
It is reported to have taken three days to print and cost about $2,600 (Ksh267,800) to make.
The bad news however is: It is not yet in the market for sale.
