Lady Gaga makes Grammy history in Pop

While it is a heated debate on whether Madonna, Britney Spears or Lady Gaga is the Queen of Pop, the odds are getting less blurry as Lady Gaga in 2019 has made history as the first Pop artiste to have won in all Grammy Pop categories.

The existing categories are: Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Traditional Pop Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Even before stepping on the Red Carpet this year, Gaga was already announced winner of the Best Pop Solo Performance for her song ‘Joanne’ and best song written for visual media for ‘Shallow’ from her Oscar-nominated film ‘A Star is Born’.

The song Shallow also won the category Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

She in 2015 won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for her collaborative album ‘Cheek to cheek’ alongside Tony Bennett. The award has in 2019 been taken by Willie Nelson’s My Way.

In 2011, Lady Gaga won Best Vocal Pop Album for the album ‘The Fame Monster’. The award has in 2019 gone to Ariana Grande’s Sweetness.
