A 70-year-old man is receiving treatment at Machakos Level 5 Hospital, after he was attacked by a group of unknown men who chopped off his genitals on Friday, February 8.
Peter Mutisya Mutongoi was attacked at Bishop Ndingi Market in Mwala sub-county, Machakos at around 9 pm.
Police Boss at Mwala,Henry Kimathi confirmed Mutisya was later rescued by people who found him bleeding profusely and was in great pain.
“Three businessmen at Bishop Ndingi market found him bleeding almost to death and took him at Mwala district hospital where he got first aid before being transferred at Machakos level five hospital,” said Kimathi.
Mutisya’s son said this is not the first case to be reported in the area and they suspect there are people connected to devil worship who normally chop people’s private parts with an intention of ritual cleansing.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects, promising tough action against anyone involved in the heinous act.
