A first year student from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) was stabbed by thugs on Thursday at 8.00 PM around seagull near highpoint area.
The slain girl known as Tabitha lost her life upon reaching JKUAT hospital due to excessive bleeding after she suffered deep throat knife stab.
“The thugs demanded for money and phones, I immediately cooperated, she did not, hence they stabbed her on the neck” Her friend who survived narrated.
JKUAT students union JKUSA have planned for a peaceful demonstrations following series of killings to agitate for speedy action on insecurity.
The students are crying foul play by police who are stationed in the area yet insecurity is still rampant.

In January 22nd 2019 University students held peaceful demonstrations to protest against increased cases of extrajudicial killings of their own by the police. This was after Carilton Maina, a student from Leeds University was gunned down by police in Kibera on December 21 2018.
Kenya Universities Students Organisation (Kuso) chairman Anthony Manyara, reported that six students were killed by police in 2018.
