Slain businesswoman Mary Wambui Kamangara who was allegedly killed by her husband Joseph Kori Karue and his lover Judy Wangui is set to be buried in Nyeri county. Wambui’s family said although Kori is in police custody in connection to the murder, he still had a say on where the mother of his child would be buried.
Wambui’s sister, Esther Kamangara, said the family was yet to set the burial date but would wait until February 13 when Kori would return to court and see if he would be released for the burial ceremony to be organised.
Already, police have arrested and detained a taxi driver believed to have been hired by Wambui’s killers to ferry her body to a dam in Juja where it was discovered. The police are still looking for another taxi driver who is said to have rejected the offer to ferry the body after he was approached by Wangui.
The police records showed the deceased’s husband might not have been at the crime scene when Wambui was murdered in January 26, 2019. It was earlier reported that the body was discovered a day after she was murdered and her husband informed her family that she had been kidnapped.
Kori was later arrested alongside Wangui after blood stained clothes were found in her house and will be subjected to DNA test. However, WhatsApp communication messages indicated the deceased and her husband were not in good terms and had problems in their marriage emanating from mistrust.
