Florentin Pogba, the elder brother to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has joined Major League Soccer powerhouse Atlanta United on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old moves to the MLS after running out his contract with Turkish club Genclerbirligi.
Atlanta’s vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra confirmed the capture of the Guinea international saying; “We’re pleased to officially welcome Florentin to our club.
“He’s a physical centre back who also has the ability to play with his feet. He also brings an immense amount of experience after representing his club and country in various international tournaments and we expect him to compete for playing time on our backline.”
Pogba started his career with Sedan in the French fourth tier and spent seven years with Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne.
