This notice comes a few days after the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi declared the Wajir West seat vacant following invalidation of Mr Ahmed Kolosh’s election by the Supreme Court.
The top court’s judges nullified Mr Kolosh’s victory over irregularities at Qara polling station.
The petition against the former MP’s election was filed by Mr Abdirahman Ibrahim Ahmed who was dissatisfied by the Court of Appeal’s decision to overturn High Court’s ruling which had nullified the poll result.
Several candidates have already declared interest in running for the seat.
Former Wajir West MP Abdikadir Ore has thrown his hat in the ring although he did not contest in the August 2017 General Election.
