Floating baby body shocks L. Victoria residents as mother drowns

Sometimes the choices people make in life following a dilemma will leave you in awe of the mentality syndromes in our generation.

Fishermen approaching the shores at Lake Victoria on Sunday, Feb 3, were met with shock when they sawa baby’s body floating on the lake at Goye Beach in Usenge sub-location in Bondo, Siaya County.

According to the fishermen, a middle-aged woman was spotted carrying the baby boy on the shores of the lake on Saturday evening, but none of them suspected she would leave it in the lake.

Usenge Sub-Location assistant chief, Manasse Osuri, says he suspects that the baby’s mother also threw herself into the lake; and that there are chances she also drowned.

The toddler’s body was taken to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

Authorities are yet to give details about the baby’s age, though it is suspected it was 1-year-old.

A search for the baby’s mother is underway.

In other disturbing baby news, residents of Bombolulu area in Mombasa County on Monday woke up to a bizarre incident of two new born babies dumped in a local dump site.

The babies who residents believe were twins, were found by streets urchins in the area at around 10 am.

According to reports by area residents, the acts have been on the rise in the recent past, some attributing the vice to lack of morals in the area.
