Police in Changamwe are investigating an incident in which a man is alleged to have stabbed his wife and later hanged himself.The incident occurred a few minutes past midnight on Monday night.
Changamwe police boss Peter Omanwa said the couple was having domestic disputes.Police are investigating the cause of the dispute.
“We are investigating what led the man to injure his wife and, thereafter, kill himself,” he said.
Omanwa said police found the woman with knife wounds at a local hospital before she was transferred to Coast General Hospital.Thereafter, they learnt that a man had hanged himself. The body was taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary.
Omanwa told residents to resolve family issues peacefully instead of taking the law into their own hands.
“We are urging Kenyans to find better ways of addressing family problems so that people can live in peace,” he said.
Omanwa said cases of couples killing each other is on the rise.
