A top Writer Olivia has shared her story on how she was forced to reject a job offer after having a uncomfortable encounter with her interviewer.
Olivia describes 2 hour interview as ‘brutal’ in which the CEO of WEB applications UK to her and her writing skilld in shreads.
Apart from that she was also called an underachiever. Despite this treatment during the interview session, Olivia said she was called for the job but she had to decline.
In response to the mail, Olivia responded with an email giving her reason of the dismissal saying that no one deserves to come out on an interview and cry in a bus.
“There is something very off about a man who tries his best to intimidate and assert power over a young woman, and who continues to push even when he can see that he is making someone uncomfortable to the point of tears” she said
Olivia went ahead saying that she feels that even after her email things will continue to be the same in that company ad she was less expectant of a response.
She also said that she had walked out of an abusive relationship and that moment in the interview room reminded her of the abuse and how someone can make you feel worthless.
She also added that the job offer to was might have been a ‘present’ to try and make up for the nasty things that were said to her.
Olivia stood her ground saying that she will not allow or entertain such treatment.
She also revealed that she was not the first person to raise such complaints or rather concerns but seemingly the company was doing nothings about it.
Although this is an incident that happened beyond the borders, some Kenyans might have been through similar circumstances.
Yesterday morning I had a job interview for a position at a company called Web Applications UK. After a brutal 2 hour interview, in which the CEO Craig Dean tore both me and my writing to shreds (and called me an underachiever), I was offered the job. This was my response today. pic.twitter.com/gijDpsEVHY
