Liverpool Slip Up To Leave Title Race Still Wide Open

Who will win the 2018/2019 Premier League title? Well, the race for the top spot in the Premier League standings seem to be taking twists with every match day that passes.

After Newcastle shocked defending Champions Manchester City, it was expected that an inform Liverpool would take advantage of City’s misfortunes and increase their lead at the table even more when they took on Claude Puel’s Leicester.

This was not to be as Jurgen Klopp’s boys failed to move seven points clear of the Cityzens after being held 1-1 by Leicester City.

Sadio Mane got the hosts off to a dream start when he scored after just two minutes, bending a shot inside the far post following a nice lay-off by Roberto Firmino.

But on the stroke of half-time Leicester hit back, Harry Maguire beating the offside trap to latch onto a lofted Ben Chillwell header and cooly side-footed home.

The Foxes had two great chances to take the lead after half-time before Liverpool had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down after Ricardo Pereira appeared to take down Naby Keita in the box.

Despite late Liverpool pressure the Foxes deservedly held on to secure a point and leave the title race still all to play for.
