Another week, another tragedy in Migori County. This time a boat accident in Lake Victoria.
Three people have been confirmed dead after a boat they were traveling in capsized in Nyatike Constituency. The accident happened around Kao Beach.
The deceased identified as Grace Adhiambo, Mary Adhiambo and Wycliffe Otieno, were among 10 occupants of the ill-fated boat. According to eyewitnesses, the victims were crossing River Kuja to Kao Beach when their boat capsized after water seeped in.
Residents were however quick and rescued seven people. The body of Grace Adhiambo has however not been found by the time of going to press.
Migori County has experienced different kinds of tragedies in recent times.
