Meet the young enterprenuer who has made conning people his hobby

Business Strategist Wilkins Fadhili, popularly known as the Man Behind Brands found himself on the spot earlier yesterday after BBC Presenter Larry Madowo exposed his fake business on social media. Larry Madowo is looking to sue the young “entrepreneur” following his latest scandal.

Wilkins Fadhili is a young entrepreneur who, over the last few years, has managed to build a successful brand behind his name. He claims to help young entrepreneurs develop a personal brand in their new businesses and reach their market goals, all through his “special training program”.

In 2015, Wilkins Fadhili, or the Man Behind Brands like he likes to call himself, made the Forbes 30 under 30 list and was named in the Kenya’s top 40 under 40 list. He became so popular that he was invited to the Safaricom Blaze event in 2016 to mentor young entrepreneurs.

Earlier yesterday, Fadhili tied his own noose and strangled his business after he posted on Social Media claiming to be Larry Madowo’s manager. But Larry Madowo is not just any other celebrity… He is smart, keen, and apparently, active on social media. The BBC Presenter immediately denied Fadhili’s allegations and threatened to pursue legal action.

In a desperate attempt to restore his already destroyed image and perhaps convince Madowo not to press charges, Fadhili tried to apologize personally to Larry Madowo but the damage had already been done. Madowo threatened to Sue Fadhili over false claims and asked his followers to be careful not to fall for such scams.

Fadhili tried to argue that his social media manager “got the drill wrong” and was supposed to post from a “brand evaluation” perspective and not a business one. Ironically, Larry Madowo is still listed on Fadhili’s website as a client.

More people who have been scammed by the Wilkins Fadhili in the past have since come out to share their personal experiences with his scam business. It has been reported that clients have had to pay at least Ksh. 30,000 for a 10-month business training and most of them have ended up losing their money in the process.

Wilkins Fadhili has claimed to be the man behind popular brands like Elani, Collins Injera, and Adelle Anyango, all who have come out to say that they don’t even know him. Fadhili owns two companies, Fashion Torch Africa and Start Up Now. Just this year, he was looking to embark on a new project called Brand Lab, a project we probably won’t see anytime soon after this scandal.
