Arsenal turn to other transfer targets as Denis Suarez talks stall

Arsenal remain hopeful of securing a deal for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez but with talks having stalled, they have turned their attentions to other targets including Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

The 21-year-old played under Emery when he was in charge of the French club last season but has found first-team opportunities limited under the Spaniard’s successor, Thomas Tuchel.

Negotiations with Barca remain active but the Catalan giants want to either agree a permanent fee in the region of £20million this month or accept a loan move now with a firm agreement they will sign Suarez at the end of the season.

The Gunners would rather just have the option to sign Suarez and are reluctant to commit a significant portion of their summer transfer budget now.

PSG may be more receptive to a loan deal for Nkunku but negotiations are at a formative deal and the exact composition of any transfer is as yet unclear.
