Muhoroni Police are holding a woman who is accused of burning her 7-year-old daughter for allegedly stealing Ksh.1000 from the grandmother.
According to Ombei Chief Alloyce Olang, the accused, Lucy Ochieng, was reportedly irked by the actions of her daughter, prompting her to buy paraffin, pour it on the little girl and set her ablaze.
The class one pupil fortunately survived and was taken to Obumba dispensary for treatment.The child’s father who is a night guard in Kisumu was away during the incident.
The accused is currently being held at Ombei police post waiting to be taken in court.Chief Olang condemned the inhumane act promising that the accused will face the full wrath of the law. Domestic Violence cases in Kenya are on the rise especially in 2019 where over 40 cases have been reported so far.
