Unai Emery Closing In On Loan Deal, It’s NOT Denis Suarez |

Unai Emery has been desperate to bolster his squad this January but is only allowed to bring in new additions on loan.

Now the Spaniard may finally be welcoming a new addition with just a week remaining until deadline day.

According to L’Equipe, Arsenal are now in advanced negotiations to sign Christoper Nkunku on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

Emery knows the player all too well having spent two seasons in Paris.

It’s also likely that the deal contains an option to buy at the end of the season.

The midfielder has made it clear that he wants more game time having only received limited opportunities under Thomas Tuchel.

L’Equipe say that Nkunku has been aware of Arsenal’s interested is interested in the project.

However a potential move could depend on whether PSG land a central midfielder themselves this month.

The club are still pursuing Idrissa Gana Gueye from Everton but Marco Silva is reluctant to sell.

Sporting director Antero Henrique is said to have held talks with Chelsea target Leandro Paredes in Doha in recent weeks.

The Zenit midfielder’s move to Stamford Bridge now appears to have gone quiet.

Julian Weigl, Renato Sanches and Abdoulaye Doucoure have also been on the radar.

Emery is still keen on bringing Denis Suarez to the Emirates Stadium.

French football expert Julien Laurens claims Emery did not look best pleased when the revealed he can only sign loan players.

“I thought he looked a bit upset and angry in that press conference when he admitted the only thing he could do right now was sign loan players,” Laurens told the GB Transfer Podcast.

“He can’t sign anyone permanently, they can only look at loanees to come into Arsenal.

“He wants to strengthen the squad and he knows it needs reinforcements but the problem is that the money is not there as much as you thought it would be.”
