Moses Kuria has a different View on Matiang’i Appointment

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has provided a totally different view on President’ Uhuru’s decision to appoint Interior CS Fred Matiang’i as his chief minister.

on Tuesday, President Kenyatta, through an executive order named Dr Matiang’i chairman of the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.

Matiang’i will now be chairing meetings that bring together all Cabinet secretaries, Attorney-General Kihara Kariuki, and Head of Civil Service Joseph Kinyua.

A section of politicians have interpreted this as a way of the president demoting his DP William Ruto. Ruto, is conspicuously missing from the all powerful team.

But Moses Kuria has interpreted it otherwise, saying the new team will be helping the President and his DP run the country. In a long Facebook Post, Kuria has said that this is exactly what he had in mind when he proposed the post of Prime Minister and two deputies.

“Exactly what I had in mind when I proposed a Prime Minister and two Deputy Prime Ministers appointed by the President to assist the President and the Deputy President in these important roles,” Kuria said.

Kuria also congratulated Matiang’i, Treasury CS Henry Rotich and Interior PS Karanja Kibicho for their big appointments.

“Now I can sleep well and sound, comfortable that there is a team of three who will switch on and off the lights of government every morning and evening,” Kuria said.
