James Orengo Siaya Senator sometime last year during a special senate meeting talked about the issue of leadership and revolution. He was directly referring to “Washenzi” term used by President Uhuru Kenyatta to hit hard on those question his development agenda.
Orengo who is known for his law prowess warned his senate members against defending some rules and revolution blindly. He boldly stated that in the rise of a revolution even its children are eaten up in the process.
This is exactly what is happening right now in Kenya. President Uhuru Kenyatta has launched a new revolution where he treats all Kenyans as equals.
In the process, Leaders from Mt. Kenya region have been complaining about that region being neglected in the development agenda.
This has sparked numerous reaction after hash words from the president:
“I am not a person who is easily scared… Those going around playing petty politics I want to tell them this. We will not launch development projects based on which region a leader comes from. We want all 45 million Kenyans to benefit, we want all corners of this country to grow,” said Kenyatta during the commissioning of the Mama Ngina waterfront regeneration project.
“We want a country where every single citizen is entitled to development regardless of where the leader comes from. Kwa hivyo hao washenzi waachane na mimi…(Let those stupid people leave me alone).”
He added: “We want a country where every Kenyan feels they are part of this nation.”
Moses Kuria and Kimani Ngunjiri are among the first children who are being devoured in the process.

When TangaTanga were told to stop early politics they said Daktari @WilliamsRuto was launching projects with a special focus on Mt. Kenya.
How comes now his spanner boy Kuria is telling us hakuna maendeleo central?#Washenzi

A national leader softly insults his subordinates and it makes headlines on prime news but when high school students follow the same example, they're arrested instantly. Our moral values decayed long ago, one is punished for following the punisher's example. Sad! #washenzi
