Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a January swoop for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
According to reports in Italy, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have issued a “non-negotiable” offer to the Serie A side for the 21-year-old.
And Sky Sports claim the four-cap Italy international is also a prime target for Chelsea.
Cesc Fabregas looks set to depart Stamford Bridge this month, and Barella – who could cost up to £45m – could be the man Maurizio Sarri turns to to replace the Spaniard.
Barcelona will only allow Denis Suarez to join Arsenal on loan if the Gunners stump up £20m to make the switch permanent in the summer, according to the Evening Standard.
The 25-year-old previously worked under Arsenal boss Unai Emery at Sevilla and has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this month.
However, it is reported that the quoted fee could prove to be a stumbling block for Arsenal.
When asked about Suarez and his plans to strengthen his squad this month, Emery responded: “I think the club is working for the possibility to take some players who can help us during these next four months.
“[Suarez] was playing in his career, and with me also, as a right or left winger.”
The Spaniard has made just six appearances in all competitions for La Liga leaders Barca this season.
