Media vs Music Industry battles; Khaligraph Jones shares his insight

What really is the role of the media in supporting the music industry?

Kenya’s award winning rapper Khaligraph Jones has today shared his insight over the role of the media in supporting the music industry.

This has been a big discussion since the ushering of the new year and all that artists want is to see the full support from fans and in an equal measure  from the media.

Khaligraph Jones who is currently in Nigeria after he attended the Sound City MVP Awards today shared a message to the media.

The real OG  was nominated  under the MVP Best Hip Hop award  which was instead won by South African Rapper AKA.

Jones has started off this year calling up on Kenyans support to help artists push their music even in the International space.

More can be done by the media in helping Kenyan artists  to fully gain recognition as well as making it known  to the world about the talent that exists within.

However, less stories are told and the media is somehow ‘dominated’ by international music.

In Khaligraph Jones sarcastic message, he says that he is planning on taking at least 10 big Kenyan media personalities/Radio presenters to Nigeria for a 10 day trip.

A trip which he will cater for, the intention of this trip according to Khaligraph is to see whether they will even be recognized.

Such an interesting though maybe this will give the media a fresh perspective of how much Kenyans Artists need their support.

Do you think the media is giving enough support?
