Romelu Lukaku has stylishly blasted his former boss Jose Mourinho after scoring in Manchester United’s win at Newcastle. The Belgian started as a substitute but came off the bench and bundled home after Martin Dubravka couldn’t hold on to Rashford’s free-kick. Lukaku has scored eight times this season and after recently returning from injury he’s looking to force his way back into the starting line-up. And the 25-year-old appeared to take aim at Mourinho following the game, highlighting how much everybody at the club is improving under Solskjaer.

“You have to be ready as a sub,” he said. “That’s what the manager asks of me. I knew that the goalkeeper might fumble it, you have to gamble. It’s totally different with the new manager, we are all learning from him, so far so good.”

Rashford netted his third goal in four games and appears to be thriving in a central role under Solskjaer. The new boss spoke this week of Rashford’s need to improve his composure in front of goal. And the England international spoke of his urgency to work on his finishing following the game. “They were difficult to break down and it took longer than we would have liked,” he said. “We had to keep working to get three points. I want to improve my finishing.”
