Many small business owners in the country have always lived under abject tribulations in effort to run their different ventures. The government policies with the introduction of County Governments many businesses have been rendered dead.
In major cities across the country owning a small business is just hail difficult. The policies and the rules are just overwhelming.
Well, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday evening promised all entrepreneurs running small businesses that the government will put in place structures to ensure they grow.
He further added that they are the backbone of Kenya’s economy and some taxation policies will be reviewed to enhance their productivity.
“I want to let every entrepreneur and person running a small business know that they are the backbone of our economy. We have not done as much as we should do to support you.
“In 2019, I promise you that my Administration will make every possible effort to take practical measures to make it easier for you to grow your business.
“We will explore policies across the range of government, including taxation, regulations, access to credit and measures to enable you adopt modern technology so as to enhance your productivity and competitiveness,” said the President.
He added that to eliminate poverty, combining the Big Four agenda with the empowering of SMEs would come in handy as the country gears towards achieving the socio-economic goals in Vision 2030.
