After refusing to concede defeat to Jubilee party’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, NASA leader Raila Odinga decided to swear himself in as the peoples President.
The swearing in ceremony was organized and planned to go down at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, despite warnings from the government.
Nairobi County governor Mike Sonko had also warned against the event at Uhuru Park, maintaining that the County government had not permitted anyone to undertake such a function.
According to the Kenyan constitution, anyone who tries to swear himself in when there is already a sitting government, he/she faces treason charges but Raila defied all this and took down the event.
Lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna commissioned the oath as Ruaraka Member of Parliament acted as a judge, but how did all this come to happen? Raila, while appearing in an exclusive interview with Citizen TV’s Joe Ageyo revealed all the plans behind the dramatic swearing in ceremony.
Raila said that the event had been well planned, and all the NASA co-principals, who are ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula had rehearsed for the event.

Raila further revealed that the video of the rehearsals was recorded with an aim of releasing the videos later should the event have failed.
His other three co-principals who failed to appear at Uhuru Park during the commissioning of the oath had been highly condemned by Kenyans, with many referring to them as cowardice.
However, Raila further revealed that NASA team had swore not to take up results that had been “cooked”.
