How 2022 politics is still opaque with Raila’s silence

The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is with no doubt the barometer of Kenya’s politics. His political stand in close to a decade has often attracted massive support.

But the future remains opaque with numerous speculations flying in the air. Some of the MPs from his political party have boldly said that he will be in active politics come in 2022.

But Raila himself has chosen to remain silent. The only calls he is pushing for is for the constitutional reform. Raila has more than once expressed his dissatisfaction with the current constitution where the winner takes it all.

But his silence on the 2022 Presidential election is just causing a lot of heat in the various political camps.

The Deputy President who is the man eyeing the Jubilee Ticket being the anxious people to know of where Raila’s political future will turn to.

The Deputy President who is struggling to overcome numerous opposition from a recent sentiment by Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe and a section of Rift Valley leaders hoping Raila will not vie in 2022.

Other leaders who have expressed their ambition also are waiting for Raila to speak out. Musalia Mudavadi who is seemingly growing to become Central Kenya’s favorite has also expressed his presidential bid. He is looking forward for Raila to support his ambition for Presidency.

 

But it will not be easy as even Kalonzo Musyoka who has been on Raila’s back for quit a while also expecting a hand of support from the former Prime Minister.

The list also include Senator Gideon Moi who is silently pursuing the state house mission.

Raila’s silence on 2022 politics makes the country be in a stand off. President Uhuru Kenyatta is also expected to have a major share in determining who will succeed him. He once said that his 2022 choice will be a shocker. With no doubt it will shape the Presidential race.
