David Silva Injury Update Before Leicester Vs Man City

David Silva is available v Leicester City. Manchester City confirmed the news on their club website late on Christmas Day.

Spanish midfield maestro David Silva is available for selection for Man City’s Boxing Day clash at Leicester City.

Silva has been out of action since the recent Man City defeat at Chelsea.

The 32-year-old suffered a hamstring injury at Stamford Bridge. He’s missed matches against Hoffenheim, Everton and Crystal Palace.

But Silva could return for Pep Guardiola on Wednesday, as the club announced:

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since the defeat to Chelsea a fortnight ago.

Silva, the fulcrum of our attacking play, has been sorely missed and his return provides a timely boost to Pep Guardiola. Vardy scored Leicester’s winner last weekend against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Vardy has been forced to miss some matches in recent weeks for the Foxes with a groin problem, however Claude Puel has reported that those issues have now gone away.

Leicester’s only confirmed absentee for the Man City game is Daniel Amartey, who is sidelined for months after surgery.

Matty James is working his way back into contention after injury.

As for Guardiola, he has several injury problems to keep him up at night.

Benjamin Mendy is still weeks away from returning after knee surgery.

Fernandinho’s fitness is still in doubt after the Brazilian missed the defeat to Crystal Palace through injury.

Vincent Kompany remains a constant injury concern, while fringe players Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo are also out of action.
