Arsenal speaks on Torreira’s potential suspension ahead of Liverpool clash

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is not concerned about Lucas Torreira’s potential ban against Liverpool ahead of Boxing Day fixture with Brighton.

Torreira is just one yellow card away from picking up an automatic suspension, which would rule him out of the visit to Liverpool on December 29th. Emery wants his midfielder to banish any thoughts of being suspended for weekend’s clash when the Gunners take on Brighton. Despite being aware of the potential ban, Emery says he has no fear for the Uruguay international bearing on his team selection.

“No, in my country I never did this decision,” said Emery when asked if he could miss out the Wednesday’s game.

“We are going to play the next match in Brighton and we are going to play at full-strength, not considering other options or playing with precautions. No, No, because it is the same three points that is in Brighton and Liverpool. We are going to play first in Brighton and it is a tough match. It is difficult and we need every player 100 percent focused to do all they can on the pitch for the win.”

Emery’s men will travel to Falmer Stadium on Wednesday 26th to take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
