Motorists to lose driving licence during the festive season

Christmas is here and we need everyone safe and sound come 2019.

Well, the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, has ruled out on some important traffic rules this festive seasons which will help motorists all through in the roads.

IG Boinnet has now given the direction to all his police officers to confiscate licenses of motorists who will be found driving while drunk.

According to the IG , “We are not going to tolerate any form of recklessness and I ask all the officers deployed in various parts of the country to be highly alert.”

His sentiments were echoed by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) which said that it will take action against drivers whose licenses will be confiscated for such reasons.

It  has  been established that seven drivers operating in different parts of the country have have already had their licenses suspended.

At the same time 11 public service vehicles (PSVs) which were operating illegally at night have also been withdrawn from the roads for a period of 30 days.
