Arsenal star Aubameyang tipped to match Van Persie 2011/12 record

Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has made a bold prediction that his teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will bag 30 goals at the end of the season after his brace against Burnley over the weekend.

Aubameyang scored a goal in each half in the 3-1 win over Burnley to take his season tally to 12 and top the goalscoring charts.

The Gabonese striker is one goal ahead of Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Sokratis and Aubameyang have a strong partnership from their days at AC Milan and most recently at German club Borussia Dortmund.

Sokratis noted that Aubameyang will clock 30 goals this season and hopes to see the speedy forward grab the golden boot when the season comes to a close, “I know Auba. I’ve known him for six or seven years. In these games he does it every time, one, two or three goals. I think 30 will happen. I hope that he will win it (the golden boot).”
