Jose Mourinho getting the sack at Manchester United on Tuesday will possibly go down as the highlight of the week, after the United debacle, not many will view him as special in any way.

But the Portuguese was no stranger to controversy, thanks to his off-field antics and explosive press conferences blasting his own stuff – a tactic he had employed at Old Trafford before he was kicked out.

Apart from the trophies, the “special one” had made a name for himself wherever he went – thanks to his controversies.

Training bust-up with Paul Pogba – Wednesday 26th September

Mourinho never shied away from blasting his players at press conferences and the red devils most expensive signing in Paul Pogba was no exception to that.

Back in September, the pair almost exchanged blows at Carrington with the French star staring down at his manager in a shocking video shared online. 

That Friday incident will, without doubt, go down in history as one of the biggest manager – player bust-ups in history.

Mourinho taunts Juventus fans at the Allianz stadium – Wednesday 7th November

After coming from the dead to grab a dramatic win against the Bianconeri in the Champions League back in November, the Manchester United manager cupped his hand to his ear and gestured at the Italian fans as he basked in the glory.

Demanding respect at a press conference – Monday 27th August

Towards the end of August, United lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspurs and their manager lost if in the post-match press conference. Storming out while shouting RESPECT! RESPECT! RESPECT!

Crazy celebrating after qualifying for the Champions League knock-out stage – Tuesday 27th November

The Portuguese escaped a Uefa ban for his exuberant celebrations after a late Marouane Fellaini winner against Young Boys in the Champions League.

The United manager celebrated the late goal by kicking one basket of water bottles over, then hurling another over his shoulder and into the turf. Crazy!
