Have Kenyans lost hope in their country?

The truth is that Kenyans are slowly getting tired of the corruption in this country and some of the decisions made by the government. Sometimes, tunajivunia kuwa Wakenya but on many occasions, tunavumilia.

A new poll by the research and consulting firm, Infotrak has now revealed that a shocking 51% of Kenyans believe that the country headed in the wrong direction.

 

 

According to the poll, the high cost of living, corruption, unemployment and poverty are to blame. The report has it that 61% of participants who took part in the poll blame President Uhuru Kenyatta for taking the country in the wrong direction.

Only 15% said thought that President is not to blame for the current situation. Those who said the country is going in the right direction stood at 36% while 13% of participants had no clue.

The report further revealed that 72% of the participants attributed the right direction to the President while 11% said that he was not the one behind it.

On the Big Four Agenda, which currently tops President Kenyatta’s priority list, 53% of those polled were not aware of it while 47% said they are knew what it was about.

The Infotrak poll numbers showed that Central region leads in awareness of the big four agenda at 61% with Nairobi coming in second at 59% followed closely by Nyanza at 54% and  North Eastern at 53%.

The lack of awareness was the highest at the Coast, Western, and Rift Valley.

Additionally, a strong 92% of those who were aware of the Big 4 Agenda said that they support it.

The poll was conducted by Infotrak between November 29 and December 1 2018 with 1500 respondents from 24 counties taking place.
