Liverpool heaps praise on forward after win over Manchester United

After the 3-1 demolition of Manchester United in an English Premier League game played at the Anfield Stadium, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho for their outstanding performances in the win.

Substitute Shaqiri came on for Naby Keita in the 70th minute and only lasted three minutes before restoring Liverpool’s lead after Jesse Lingard canceled out Sadio Mane’s opener in the first half.

Shaqiri was on hand again to assure the points for Liverpool in the 80th minute with a strike that sealed his brace.

Fabinho was instrumental in the game as he broke down Manchester United’s counter attacks and played incisive passes.

Speaking in a press conference after the win over United, Klopp lauded Fabinho and Shaqiri, “Shaq is such a wonderful, skilled boy that he has to have influence. That’s important. If we can bring him in the half-space and then he passes the ball back to the guy who gave him the ball, it doesn’t make too much sense.

“Fabinho was outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. Fabinho played at the highest level.”
