The much awaited day is finally here and the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) is all set to honour the Former Prime Minister, Hon. Raila Odinga.
The local public university has earlier in a newspaper advertisement announced to confer the honorary degree upon Mr. Odinga who according to the University, has made an immense contribution towards public service, leadership and the expansion of the democratic space in Kenya and in the region.
“The university charter believes Raila ascribes to the values of the learning institution and has rendered distinguished service in the advancement of any branch of learning or service to humanity,” the advert continued to read.
The University also noted that the recently appointed High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa has promoted the infrastructure industry, settlement, sciences and environmental conservation.
“The University Senate has therefore determined that the Right Honourable Odinga is worthy of the conferment of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Sciences (Honoris Causa),” said Prof. Agong’.
