NHIF Receptionist Who Owns Multi-Million shocks Kenyans

Image result for Fredrick Sagwe OnyanchaMultiple arrests by DCI sleuths have rocked the nation since early morning hours on Friday. Top managers from the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and NHIF have been caught in the wave of arrests over alleged corruption scandals.
But one among the 21 brought to book has left Kenyans baffled on how he rose to live like a king among beggars.

The financial transformation of the 39 year old, Fredrick Sagwe Onyancha in a span of just 4 years has puzzled many with the EACC closing down on him over alleged involvement in corruption.

Worth noting is that in just 4 years, Sagwe who serves as a receptionist on a salary of Ksh Ksh150,000 has bought 8 apartments worth sh 160 million.

One of his palatial homes is located in Green Park estate along Mombasa Road. The well-furnished house was at one point featured in -Ideal Space, with Sagwe’s wife explaining the expensive fittings in their palatial home. Investigators have valued the house and all the fittings at Sh 60 million.

He has also bought a fleet of top of the range cars including Range Rovers and Toyota V8s that he cruises around in. A chain of car and carpet cleaning businesses valued at Sh 50 million is also part of his portfolio in what EACC believe could have been established from proceeds of corruption.Image result for Fredrick Sagwe Onyancha

Sagwe held a lavish wedding at Safari Park hotel with reports indicating that organizing the lavish event cost sh 50 Million.

The Assets Recovery team has moved to court to repossess the house and other properties under his name.

His big break was in 2013 when he joined the tender evaluation committee at NHIF, a position that saw his wealth portfolio grow significantly almost overnight.

Investigators divulged that despite being a man of able means, Sagwe occasionally “tries to look like a modest man by driving a small car”.

Sagwe began his career at NHIF on a salary of sh50,000 in 2007 as a front desk officer after graduating from USIU.

He is being sought in the wake of a scandal at NHIF that has so far seen several arrested and arraigned in court.
