Manchester United legend bows down for Arsenal boss

Garry Neville has lauded Unai Emery’s impact on Arsenal especially after their 4-2 win over North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Manchester United full-back said the healthy win at Emirates is well deserved for the Gunners. The football pundit said the energy and the speciality of the derby shocked him given that Tottenham had always been great but was decisively beaten by a different Arsenal.

“I’ve hated coming here in the last couple of years, in some ways, because there’s been an apathy and an atmosphere that this great club doesn’t deserve. It was completely different and it has shocked me. It has shocked me because Tottenham is a team I really admire and have loved watching over the last two or three years. Today they have been outrun.” Neville offered.

“It was a collective display by Arsenal. There’s still massive improvements to make in individual players and Unai Emery will definitely delve into the transfer market in the next two or three windows, but they have been absolutely sensational today. The first 20 minutes was as good as I’ve seen here for a long time in terms of getting the crowd behind them. The quality, the tackling, the pressing… everything you want to see in a derby.” Neville continued.

The former England international was quick though to pinpoint that he is not a fan of either team but he loved the display at Arsenal’s turf.

“I loved the match from start to finish. I’m not a fan of either team, but it had everything; penalties, a scuffle; tackles; good goals and it was really, really good. I’m sure Tottenham fans haven’t enjoyed it, but Arsenal deserve all the plaudits that they get.” he explained.

Arsenal will visit Old Trafford to face former Neville’s side Man United who are struggling to pull positive results.
