Klopp’s celebration lands him in trouble

Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the Football Association after the Liverpool boss celebrated his side’s injury-time winner against Everton on Sunday at Anfield.

The Reds were close to registering what many saw as a draw but Divock Origi netted a stoppage-time winner to give Liverpool a dramatic win in the Merseyside derby.

Klopp sprinted onto the pitch and hugged Alisson and now the Reds boss has been charged with misconduct for his celebration and has until 8 PM on Thursday to respond.

“I have to apologize because I didn’t want to be disrespectful – but I couldn’t stop myself. If I could describe how I felt when the goal went in, then I would have control over it. We don’t want to look for excuses but that’s how it is,” said Klopp after the game.

“The plan was not to run. When I chose to stop, I was close to Alisson. He was surprised.”
