Kenyan Stars Shine as Coke Studio Africa Release this Year’s Line Up

For sometime now, Kenyan music lovers have argued that our music has lost it’s earlier golden touch with countries such as Tanzania and Nigeria overtaking us and taking over the African Music scene.

Kenyan artistes have however continued putting in that hard work that has seen them recognized not just locally but also internationally. For instance Khaligraph Jones was voted as Africa’s best rapper while Naiboi continues to win many hearts with his new style of music.

Nyashinki on the other hand came back like he never left and has even got 2 back to back nominations in the MTV music awards.

That aside, another season of Coke Studio Africa is here with us, a time for various African artistes to come together and create some magic. Coke studio already unveiled 25 African musical stars that will take part in the new season.

In a statement to newsrooms on Tuesday, the music stars set to feature in Coke Studio Africa 2019 were mostly drawn form Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria as well as other countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.

‘Vimbada’ hitmaker Moji ShortBabaa, NaiBoi – who is currently riding high with his ‘2 in 1’ smash single – as well as fast-rising songstress Nadia Mukami will make their debuts to represent Kenya in the show, joining recently crowned 2018 AFRIMMA Awards ‘Best Rapper Africa’ Khaligraph Jones who returns for his second stint.
