Here are enough reasons why Kenya Pipeline MD Joe Sang should be rotting at Kamiti

Kenya Pipeline MD Joe Sang has announced that he will not be seeking a second term in office when his term expires in April next year.

The embattled MD who has overseen several scandals hit the firm, says this is due to ‘personal reasons.’ But deep inside we know that Joe Sang is guilty and corrupt and shouldn’t even be telling us about retirement. The DPP should have pounced on him like yesterday, and he should be paying for his sins at Kamiti maximum prisons.

Under his watch KPC lost 21 million litres of oil worth over sh 2 billion shillings. KPC claims that the oil spilt in the fields or was stolen in the past two years. It is unclear how such a large amount can spill without public knowledge.

More worrying is the fact that, Joe Sang and KPC had proposed to oil marketers that the loss should be covered by consumers. Yaani alitaka bei ya mafuata iongezwe.

How sinful can one get? But that is not the only scandal, in fact it could be the least that Sang has overseen during his tenure.

In October, Sang and other senior employees recorded statements with the DCI over the controversial sh 1.7 billion Kisumu Jetty scandal.

The Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti stated that they want to establish how the project was arrived at and how money allocated to it was spent. Investigations are not complete, but we both know what the findings will be, damning.

KPC has also experienced numerous fire outbreaks during his tenure. Fire that are not natural and we believe Sang had something to do with it.

So why should he announce his retirement? We hope he retires to Kamiti.
