A section of students from the Technical University of Mombasa have taken on the streets of Mombasa to demonstrate the new policy implemented by the school on fees payment.
According to the institution and many other government institutions of higher learning fees payment is usually a big problem. The institutions have no specific dates to pay their school fees. Most of the students are always advised to clear their fee arrears before the start of exams.

This is the same reason the students of TUM led by their school leaders took on the street to demonstrate to what they term as unfair means of the institution. Some of the students have expressed their concerns that the school administration did not involve them in arriving at that decision.
This some caused unrest in Mombasa as they have engaged themselves in running battles with the police turning out violent as some of the students involved being arrested.
