‘Lamba Lolo’ crew barred from performing their songs amid court battle

Most of the Kenyan artists thrive in controversy and sometimes it comes back to choke them. When artists are seemingly making it there is a part of them that takes over and this could be similar to what is happening with the ‘Lamba Lolo’ crew.

Apparently the crew seems to be falling apart amid their court case battle which has costed them and even  to the pulling down some of their songs including ‘Lamba Lolo’ and messed the relationship between the crew and the management.

The crew has also been barred from performing some of their songs until the court case is settled. Their manager explained  that perfoming any of their songs that have been pulled down will complicate the matter.

Edaily reports that the disagreement between popular upcoming music group Ethic and their management team has escalated to a point where the courts may have to get involved.

“The matter is headed to the courts as we have already drafted our papers so I am not in a position to say much about it until it comes to an end. But if they perform any of those songs at any concert then it would only further complicate the issue for them,” said Teleh.

Ethic’s music manager Mwakitele Kitawi, popularly known as ‘Teleh Mani’ (HYPE Entertainment), said the videos would only be uploaded back to YouTube after the dispute has been resolved.

The song attracted alot of criticism online after it was out and many said that it is a disgrace and encourage sex for the youth as well as immorality

One of the Kenyan  artist who openly rebuked the song is Gospel artist Size 8 who was speaking to high school students warning them about the song.

The song had gotten over 1 million views  on You Tube before it was pulled down.

What are your thoughts on the backlash that the crew is facing?
